WHAT'S NOT HAPPENING!

County pondering approval of low income housing for seniors. Much of the "nursing home" type environs damaged by hurricane Charley. Due to size some places will take over a year just to repair. Shouldn't be a difficult decision.

City is "debating" over rebuilding its low income housing at some of the current locations or moving to not so prime land. Most of these living facilities are close to the downtown area and all the grocery stores have moved away from the downtown areas. Being to far to walk to the stores now, it would make sense to put the new housing closer to facilities. Also, selling the prime land would bring more money in to upgrade these peoples new digs. Prior to the hurricane the city was in the process of re-roofing etc. much of the housing as it was in disrepair.

What's Up:

In the purchase of a home in Charlotte Co. and the North Port housing market, buyers faced a 24% price increase in the first 9 months of 04 verses 03.

The old Punta Gorda Isles Yacht Club is history. Torn down due age and hurricane damage. 18 months from now the replacement, a 6 mil., 14,600 sf building will be ready.

Home Depot in south Punta Gorda going up...already almost all the tilt-up walls are done.

What happens when you don't drink enough water!

While Charlotte Co. tables for study the new sign ordinance, an Omaha, NB guy sells on eBay at $37,375 for one month's use for advertising his FOREHEAD.

The unanswered question is "What Reality Show will this spawn?"

Enough.
