Down the street a bit will be a new Target and Loews Building Center near to 771/776.

Charlotte Chamber of Commerce returns to Punta Gorda. They had been located in the historic City of Punta Gorda Municipal building until hurricane Charley. Now re-located in a trailer on the corner of S. US 41 and Marion Ave.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR LARGE SCALE PLAN AMENDMENTS. When you see this in the paper along with a giant map and areas marked something is changing about land use in the county. Not always a good thing, cause the is no larger group to complain. For example, 2211 acres at in the Washington Loop area to be rezoned from Low Density Residental to Rural Estate. As the population grows and it will no matter what, then we will need new golf course communities cause there is no more water front. Here is an area, sitting minding its own business and along comes the county with the bright idea to change it. Of course some areas get changed due to developer pressure. Burnt Store rd. and the surronding area is one. How do you know the difference and if there is any hope to stop something. See who the listed applicants are. A wise man sees that the County is the applicant (they are preposing this) and the hearing is before the Planning and Zoning Board......GIT-R-DONE! WITH YOUR EYES CLOSED!!!
