Where you meet for the EAT Tours

The first few times I ventured into exploring about the Florida Everglades, I didn't quite get the excitement over it. I understood it was a unique ecosystem and was a local treasure and major attraction to European visitors from a tourism view point, however I just didn't "see" the big deal when I ventured down on my own to see what are The Everglades is all about.

That all changed when I was fortunate to take part of a few tours and sightseeing expeditions about The Everglades. there is so much information that isn't visible just by the naked eye that make The Everglades a fascinating place. It also matters what time of day you travel and what you are expecting to see. Local tours and sightseeing companies know where, when and what time to find the sights you are looking for. A tour guide company I've been fortunate to experience and highly recommend is Everglades Area Tours (EAT) led by Captain Charles Wright (All tours are limited to six passengers, reservations are required for all tours - you can't just "show up").
In addition to several tour offerings, Cap't Charles is now offering a new nature photography tour: Everglades Nat'l Park Birding, Wildlife & Photo Expedition. The boat, limited to six passengers with comfortable seating, is a large, stable platform for birding and photography. There is space for a camera tripod so you can bring large telephoto lenses. The naturalist guided eco-tour has daily outings and lasts 3.5 hours.  The tour leaves out of Everglades City (Chokoloskee).  Cost is $149.95 per person - kids under 12 are 1/2 price.  This trip is great for all Ages and Experience Levels.

Cap't Charles also runs the Boat Assisted Kayak ECO Tours.  Every day and every tour is certainly different as each trip is tailored to the group and the natural environment of the day ... no trip is "canned" and the wildlife and the days conditions are just that … wild. However, you can expect to encounter a wide variety of the Park's wildlife - manatees, dolphins, sea turtles, bald eagles, ospreys, herons, egrets, roseate spoonbills to name a few. Imagine paddling next to a manatee or a dolphin!!!  The naturalist guided eco-tour has daily outings and lasts 3.5 to 4 hours. The tour leaves out of Everglades City (Chokoloskee). Cost is $149.95 per person - kids under 12 is $79.95. This trip is great for all Ages and Experience Levels - Stable, Easy and Quiet
